Wilson Lai πŸ‡ΈπŸ‡¬

Cybersecurity professional πŸ›‘οΈ | Mechanical Engineer πŸ› οΈ

About Me

Wilson started his career as an engineer πŸ‘·πŸ» in the energy sector. Being no stranger to working in construction environments, he often had to spend time in the field in full coveralls and a trusty white helmet.

After discovering a passion for coding and digitalization, he eventually decided to transition into infomation security and reinvent himself as a cybersecurity professional πŸ‘¨πŸ»β€πŸ’». Currently, he works as an Operational Technology (OT) Security Engineer to make sure industrial OT systems are safe from cyber threads. He is also actively pursuing PNPT (Professional Network Penetration Tester) and OSCP (Offensive Security Certified Professional) certifications.

In his freetime, he enjoys working on his homelab and Capture the Flag (CTF) challenges. He is also an avid reader, and firmly believes that continuous learning and self-improvement are essential in the ever-evolving field of cybersecurity.

Wilson adopted the hacker handle whitehelmetsec to reflect his unique blend of background in both physical and digital infrastrucure. It symbolizes a fusion of his past experience as an engineer (white helmet), his commitment to ethical hacking (white hat), and his fervor for information security (sec).
